Wessex Water Frequently Asked Questions

How can I change my Direct Debit details?

If you pay by direct debit and want to change your bank account details, simply complete a new direct debit form online or contact on 0345 600 3 600.

How do I read the meter?

It’s usually straightforward to see your meter. The first thing to do would be to lift the outer lid using a flat-headed screwdriver. Internal meters don’t have a lid.

Remove the polystyrene cover if there is one. When there’s an interior metallic lid, pull this up to see the meter face. Don’t forget to place this back when you’ve taken the scanning because it can help to protect against frost damage.

Next check that the serial number on your bill matches the one on the meter. If that’s the case, now you can read the meter.

If you’re sending us a meter reading, then we need the black characters just – those record whole cubic metres (m3).

What is your leakage policy?

Wessex Watertake a proactive approach to reducing leakage. This includes repairing over 1,000 flows per month on the network.

Wessex Water goal to keep leakage beneath the goal of 71 megalitres per day determined by their regulator Ofwat.
